Facility Manager: Dr. Arnaud Basle
Dr. Arnaud Baslé serves as the X-ray Facilities Manager for the Newcastle University MX Structural Biology group and its collaborators. Since joining Rick Lewis’s laboratory in 2009, Arnaud has played a central role in ensuring the seamless operation of the facility. His responsibilities include overseeing the maintenance and development of X-ray instrumentation, managing facility resources, and coordinating access for internal and external users. Arnaud also provides expert guidance on experiment setup, data collection, and analysis. His dedication to maintaining high operational standards fosters an environment of collaboration and scientific excellence.
Scientific Officer: Dr. Johan Panek
Johan joined the structural biology platform in August 2024 as a Scientific Officer, to support researchers with their macromolecular structural biology projects using X-ray technology. His recent addition to the team reflects his commitment to advancing scientific discovery through user-focused support.
